East Mountain Softball
EMLL's softball program begins in baseball - in the co-ed Tee-Ball and Rookie divisions - and continues to the Senior softball level. Girls ages 5 to 16 are encouraged to sign up!
At ages 6 through 8, girls are placed together on Rookie Division baseball teams. The girls who play together at this level will develop a team identity, and motivation to continue into Little League Softball. We try to build at least one all-girls Rookie baseball team, or place girls together on two Rookie teams, rather than spreading them out across the 7 or 8 teams in the division in order to promote this unity, and retain players.
Little League Girls Softball begins at age 9 in the Minors division. EMLL plays a traveling interleague schedule against other leagues in the area. In addition to playing for a championship, emphasis is placed on developing skills, and training players for the Junior division (13-14), the Senior division (15-16), leading to high school, which opens the possibility of competing at the college level. The East Mountain High School Softball team uses the EMLL fields, and draws many of its players from the League.
